How to use and install your DSA awarded Glean/Genio software provided by Study Tech or another DSA supplier

Glean has changed to Genio now.

With the change, some PC's, mostly Mac's are experiencing an issue where they lose connection to Glean/Genio license servers.

A key will show as invalid, the student will be unable to sign/log in with the app or may get an error message.

Using NOT SAFARI or EDGE, so Chrome, Brave, Opera, Firefox etc have the student sign in to Genio/Glean online and then restart, the app/any downloaded Genio/Glean software should update, after a restart.

Glean/Genio now use a key checker for product activation
In theory,  a Genio Notes license should have access to both Genio Notes on web and mobile. However, if your email does not match/your email is pulled from your mobile or phone account you may need to contact Genio directly to assist, Study tech/Study tech technical support will be unable to assist.

Info-FOMO is real: you leave 65% of information behind in class.

But with our note taking process you get more value from your learning experience.

Glean captures everything, just BYOB

(That’s Bring Your Own Brain — we’ve got the rest.)

Glean doesn’t take notes for you. It gives you a simple note taking process that scaffolds how you learn from information, so you build effective note taking skills.

Three reasons note taking hasn’t worked for you yet

Taking notes in class helps you identify and retain key information to learn from.
But it’s far from an easy process to master and here’s why.

It’s distracting during class

You can either try and capture information in notes or actively listen and engage in discussion.

It’s a process, not an outcome

The act of taking notes helps you to learn, so using class or peer notes affects understanding.

The medium doesn't work for you

We mostly study and teach with text, but spoken information might resonate more.
