How to enable icons and the dock/Taskbar on a Mac's second, extended display.

You should be able to drag any app/window you wish onto the extended desktop/other monitor and then use it for that.

Windows will automatically show the taskbar, Mac's are not set to do so.

To make the Dock (taskbar) visible on a second monitor in macOS, you can enable the "Displays have separate spaces" setting in System Settings (formerly System Preferences). This allows each monitor to have its own desktop, including the Dock and menu bar, independent of the others.

Open System Settings: Click the Apple menu in the top left corner and select "System Settings".
Go to Desktop & Dock: In the sidebar, click on "Desktop & Dock".
Find Mission Control: Scroll down to the "Mission Control" section.
Enable "Displays have separate spaces": Turn on the switch for "Displays have separate spaces".
Log out and back in: This will apply the changes.
After logging back in, you should see the Dock on all of your monitors.
