What to do when a student reports that they are unable to access their study needs assessment report.

What to do when I am unable to access my study needs assessment report?

Why does this happen?

In 99% of instances, this is not a Technical issue. Its a simple case of a transposed number/digit in your recorded date of Birth (DOB), or of an unusual password format being used.

Commonly Used Password Formats:

Surname + Date of Birth:  Jones120598 or Jones12051998 or Jones12052008. It is worth trying without the capital letter as well, jones12052008
Last Name + Last 4 digits of your Customer Reference Number (CRN) Jones4789
Unique Reference/Case Number: Provided directly by the assessment center/assessor.
It is recommended to save the report immediately upon opening it and for you to contact the assessment center/assessor if the password provided/the options above do not work.

We CANNOT send a "passwordless" copy of an assessment report to a student. DSA/SLC etc require that the document is password protected.

So what if it is not wrong DOB, or unknown password, but a Tech issue?

In the rare instance this is a technical issue, make sure you are using a laptop and a PDF viewer, web browser or Google docs/office to access the report.

Tech Support WILL NOT attempt to "troubleshoot" accessing the document on anything else/your phone/a tablet from 2008.
